If you have not updated your 2026-2027 FAFSA application to include Northeastern University, please complete the following:

1.               Log in to StudentAid.gov using your FSA ID and password.

2.               Under My Activity, select your processed FAFSA form.

3.               Click the Actions menu in the upper-right corner and select Add or Remove Schools.

4.               Search for and add federal school code (002199).

5.               Review your updated school list, sign, and submit the correction.

Students who plan to borrow Federal Direct Loans for 2026–2027 must ensure their Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Loan Counseling to reflect Northeastern University. 

1.     Log in to Direct Loan MPN using your FSA ID and password.

2.     Select: I’m an Undergraduate Student.

3.     Complete the MPN. (You will need to select the state of Massachusetts to locate Northeastern University)

4.     Notify Northeastern University of completed Entrance Counseling.

a.     Login to Studentaid.gov, click on “My Activity”, then Loan Entrance & Exit Counseling.

b.     Click on your completed counseling and towards the bottom of the page click on “Notify Additional Schools”.

If you would like to reduce or cancel your federal student loans, please email [email protected] and include your NU ID with your request.

Students who are selected by the Department of Education for federal verification will be sent a request to their Northeastern email account. Verification must be completed before applicable need-based and federal aid, including loans, can be disbursed. 

Please complete all requested documentation promptly. Your financial aid eligibility may change based on the results of the verification process. 

If you submitted a 2026–2027 FAFSA using the Marymount Manhattan College school code, you must update it to include Northeastern University’s Federal School Code: 002199.

If you have already updated your FAFSA to include Northeastern University, no further action is needed.

1. Log in to StudentAid.gov using your FSA ID and password.
2. Under My Activity, select your processed FAFSA form.
3. Click the Actions menu in the upper-right corner and select Add or Remove Schools.
4. Search for and add the federal school code (002199).
5. Review your updated school list, sign, and submit the correction.

You will receive an email confirmation from the U.S. Department of Education once your FAFSA correction has been successfully submitted.

Parents who plan to borrow a Direct Parent PLUS Loan for 2026–2027, including those who previously submitted a request for Marymount Manhattan College, must complete the following steps:

1. Log in to Direct Parent PLUS Loan using the parent’s FSA ID.
2. Complete the Parent PLUS Loan application.
3. A credit decision will be provided immediately after submission.
4. Approved borrowers must complete the Parent PLUS Master Promissory Note.
