August 14, 2026
We are pleased to share the next steps for processing your 2026–2027 financial aid. To ensure your financial aid is available for disbursement in the Fall semester, we ask that students add the Northeastern school code (002199) to their FAFSA by August 30th.
If you submitted a 2026–2027 FAFSA using the Marymount Manhattan College school code, you must update it to include Northeastern University’s Federal School Code: 002199.
If you have already updated your FAFSA to include Northeastern University, no further action is needed.
You will receive an email confirmation from the U.S. Department of Education once your FAFSA correction has been successfully submitted.
Students who plan to borrow Federal Direct Loans for 2026–2027 must update their Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Loan Counseling to reflect Northeastern University.
To complete this step:
a.Login to Studentaid.gov, click on “My Activity”, then Loan Entrance & Exit Counseling.
b. Click on your completed counseling and towards the bottom of the page click on “Notify Additional Schools”.
Parents who plan to borrow a Direct Parent PLUS Loan for 2026–2027, including those who previously submitted a request for Marymount Manhattan College, must complete the following steps:
If you are applying for an alternative/private education loan for 2026–2027, please ensure Northeastern University is listed as your school on the application. To help facilitate your private loan search, Northeastern has partnered with ELM Select, a transparent, lender-neutral, free service that allows borrowers to easily compare lenders in a secure, third-party environment.
