Student Financial Services remains committed to partnering with students, families, and our community to support a successful reentry to campus. As we welcome guests back to our office on a limited basis, it is important to recognize our shared responsibility and respect for our community’s health and safety. This page contains the latest information and updates about our new and expanded virtual service offerings, answers to frequently asked questions, helpful resources, and available contact information.

Hours of Operation and Services

Visiting Our Office

Beginning August 24, our office on the Boston campus will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For the safety and health of our students and staff, we cannot allow more than 6 students in the lobby at one time.

Below are the in-person services currently available at our office:

  • Endorsement for loan checks.
  • Endorsement for scholarship checks.
  • Completion of documents that require university seals.

If the service you seek requires a visit to our office, please keep in mind:

  • There will be no waiting space in our lobby, so please limit parties to one person.
  • Please have your payment method, completed documents (if applicable), and NU ID ready to allow for prompt processing.
  • Follow floor markings to maintain social distancing between the front desk and other patrons.

Evening Appointments

We are currently offering limited, evening appointments between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. EDT If you prefer to establish an appointment during this timeframe to discuss your financial aid or student account, please click here. Please note that additional appointments will be added regularly, so please check back often.

Financial Aid Awards

Financial aid awards for students in all programs are actively being prepared, provided the financial aid application process and all required documents have been completed. You may track the progress of your financial aid award on your myNortheastern portal, as well as document status. Once your financial aid award is available, you will be notified via your Northeastern email.

Graduate Scholarships

Graduate scholarships, including Double Husky and Stipended Graduate Assistantships (SGAs), will be added to your financial aid award on a rolling basis, through the month of September. Once your graduate scholarship has been added, you will be notified via your Northeastern email.

Payment Processing

Due to postal delays and current volume, the processing of mailed payments may be delayed. Please note that due to peak processing times, we cannot individually confirm receipt of payments or checks. We are working to process payments as quickly as possible. If you have mailed in a payment to the university, please continue to monitor your myNortheastern portal for updates.
