Types of Aid

Northeastern offers undergraduate students a full complement of financial assistance from federal, state, and institutional sources.

Grants

 
Grants are a form of gift aid and do not need to be repaid. Students with demonstrated financial need may be eligible for Northeastern Institutional Grants, as well as Federal and State Grant Funding.

Scholarships

 
Northeastern offers various scholarship opportunities to undergraduate students. Scholarships are a form of gift aid and do not need to be repaid.

Loans

 
Loans are funding options that must be repaid. Undergraduate students may be eligible for loans from both Federal and Private lenders.

Work Awards

 
Federal Work-Study is a need-based federally subsidized program that provides part-time employment to undergraduate students. To be eligible, students must demonstrate financial need, as determined by the FAFSA.
