Learn about the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement – a new annual requirement for Northeastern-NYC students

We are excited to see you on campus this fall! We want to introduce the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement (SFRA) – an important form you will need to complete before the start of term.

The SFRA is a mandatory agreement that all Northeastern students complete annually. It outlines your financial responsibilities as a student — such as making tuition payments and reviewing billing communications — as well as the consequences of an unpaid balance. You will be required to complete the SFRA each year to register for classes and access other university services.

Log in to the Student Hub and follow the prompts to review and accept the agreement. Please complete this form as soon as possible to ensure a smooth start to your academic year.

An incomplete SFRA results in a hold on your account, which will block access to grades and registration-related activities until it’s resolved.

  • The SFRA must be completed once per academic year.
  • If someone else (a sponsor, employer, or family member) is helping pay your bill, you’re still responsible for completing the SFRA — and for any charges not covered by that funding.
  • Students can view their completed SFRA in the Student Hub, but this information is not directly accessible to parents/guardians through the Family Portal.

We are currently awaiting final guidance from the U.S. Department of Education on the additional steps required to complete the processing and disbursement of your financial aid due to the merger. We understand that you are eager for this information and appreciate your patience during this transition.

As soon as we receive the required guidance, we will share next steps and instructions so you can move forward with confidence.
