Information for students and parents with Federal Direct student loans

The August 24, 2022 announcement from the Biden administration and Department of Education (ED) regarding targeted student loan debt cancellation is important for any student who borrowed Federal Student Loans. ED clarified eligible loans include Federal Direct Unsubsidized/Subsidized Student Loans, Graduate Direct Unsubsidized Loans, Graduate and Parent PLUS disbursed before June 30, 2022.

Please contact your Federal Loan Servicer as soon as possible to review your options and next steps to process your loan debt cancellation. You will work with your Federal Loan Servicer and not Northeastern University during this process.
