FAFSA Update: The 2024-2025 FAFSA is available to complete online. Due to Federal delays in releasing FAFSA information, Northeastern will require additional time to process your offer of financial assistance. Please visit our FAFSA Updates Page for more information and timely announcements.

Effective Fall 2023, Northeastern University has implemented a new policy regarding late fees. Learn more about this policy.

As of February 28, 2024, 1098-T statements for the 2023 tax year are available to current eligible students in the student hub. Learn more about how to access your 1098-T.

You’ve Been Accepted! Now What Do You Do?

Congratulations, you’ve been accepted!  Now you’re probably wondering what your next steps should be.  Well, first you should pay your deposit before May 1st.  You can pay your deposit by going to your myNEU Account at www.myneu.neu.edu.  Look for the messages in the “Alerts” section, under the Welcome tab.  The Tuition Deposit is $200 and the Housing Deposit is $400; both are non-refundable.

The priority filing date for your FAFSA and CSS Profile forms was February 15th, but it is still not too late to file them.  If you have not submitted these forms and would like to be considered for financial aid, please complete these forms as soon as possible at www.fafsa.gov and http://profileonline.collegeboard.com.  If you have filed for financial aid, check your myNEU Account to see if you have any missing financial aid documents.  Click on the link “My Financial Aid Status,” and look under the documents tab.  Orientation for students starting in the Fall 2010 term will occur between June and August.   During orientation, Student Financial Services will be available to answer any questions you may have about financing your education, and can work with you on creating an individualized financial plan.

During the summer months, depending on your financial aid package you may be notified to complete documents to receive your financial aid.  In order for first-time borrowers to receive Stafford Loan funds, the online Federal Entrance Interview and Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) must be completed. The Federal Entrance Interview is located on myNEU. The Stafford Loan MPN can be completed at www.dlenote.ed.gov.  We request that families do not complete the information necessary for the Stafford loan until after May 1st.  If you were awarded a Perkins, Health Professions, or Nursing Loans, the required documentation will be mailed to your home in late June/early July.  In order to receive any federal financial aid funding, you must complete a Title IV Authorization Form, which will also be available on myNEU. If you have questions regarding financial aid, please review our Frequently Asked Questions.
